Northern California slammed with severe weather

The first major California storm of 2017 slammed into the San Francisco Bay Area Saturday evening Jan. 7, 2017 and intensified Sunday Jan. 8, 2017, bringing with it high winds and significant rainfall that flooded roads and is sending streams and rivers over their banks in areas prone to flooding. Heavy snow and rain in the Sierras is causing some major Northern California rivers to rise Sunday with more widespread flooding expected Monday. Read more here
